Rare Winchester Factory M2 Carbine. Not a kit or conversion. Manufactured by Winchester in May 1945 (Serial 7,264,XXX) as a M2 machine gun and falls within the correct Winchester M2 7,234.884 and 7,369.660 block of serial numbers. The U.S. M2 was manufactured concurrently with the M1 Carbine, and the very high parts interchangeability would let manufacturers produce receivers with all but the "1" or "2", and then fit the appropriate parts and apply the stamp as needed for the day. Winchester walnut stock, blade front and "PI" marked adjustable peep rear sight, with a "W" marked barrel, Type III barrel band, round bolt, milled trigger guard and Inland trigger housing.Very rare.
