Ruger tips from The Ruger Man: The most common cause of breakage with the AC556 is incorrect assembly after taking out the trigger group. The selector must be in the upright or semi-auto position when inserting the trigger group. If in the wrong position, you will bend a stamped part and the gun will have to be repaired. Read your manual. If you need one, Ruger will provide one free. Call customer service at 603-863-3300. If your gun does not always fire three rounds when in three-shot-burst mode, you may be releasing the trigger before all three rounds are fired. This is ok. If you only fire two rounds, the next burst will fire one. The following burst will do three again. If you need mags, use Ruger or PMI mags. Other aftermarket mags are not reliable in full-auto mode. USA mags are the worst. Ruger is no longer providing service for the AC556. This should not be a concern as the guns are very reliable. Most parts interchange with the Mini 14 semi auto. Almost all parts for the Mini 14 are available from Brownells. They have an online schematic that shows all parts. Their parts are very inexpensive. I am trying to maintain a limited parts inventory for my customers. Don't ask for parts if your gun did not come from me. I would like to help everyone, but I won't have enough to go around. I just bought 3 complete guns for parts. I do not want to be in the parts business, so this is a service for only my customers. |
